UV print on rusted and patinated metal — an art series that treats decay as a design element.
The art series "Ionenwanderung" (Ion Migration) by Bert Silzner explores processes of chemical and physical decay — oxidation, ion movement and material change. For the series, Glastrix produced UV direct prints on rusted and patinated metal surfaces. The texture of the metal — rust, corrosion and patina — remains visible and becomes part of the motif. The result is works in which material and print are inseparably linked.
